NOO Halloween Idea

Newman’s Own Organics sent me some great samples in the mail and my family and I have been devouring them quickly because they are so good. Luckily I had one package of the Caramel Cups left along with a bag of their Spelt Pretzels.

I’ve been on a Halloween decorating frenzy for the past few days and pondering if I could come up with a festive idea using NOO products.

The Spelt Pretzels are used with Organic Spelt Flour, Organic Sunflower Oil, Salt, Yeast, and Soda. I really enjoyed them. They are very crunchy with just enough salt for a normal pretzel flavor.

The Caramel Cups… well… all I can really say is …Mmmmmmm! Made with Organic Chocolate and Organic Caramel. I believe I have found a new favorite snack and I have replaced the other candy cup variety that I have been addicted to for ages. It’s now NOO Cups for me!

Okay back to the Halloween idea…

Chocolate Spider Cups

Package of Candy Cups (peanut butter or caramel, your choice -I used NOO Caramel)

Pretzels

Melted Chocolate

Butterscotch morsels (for eyes)

Fore each spider, break off 8 matching curved sections of the pretzels to make the legs. Dip the legs in melted chocolate and lay them on a pan lined with parchment paper. Pop them in the freezer to harden for about 10 minutes. Once the chocolate legs are hard, dip one end of the leg into the melted chocolate and use it as glue to stick to the candy cup. Do this for all 8 legs. Place in the freezer again to set for about 10 more minutes. For the eyes, I chose butterscotch morsels. Dip the back of the morsel into the melted chocolate and place them on the cup to look like spider eyes.

And there you have it…a creepy, hairy, yummy, spider. Never thought I’d say those words in the same sentence. ;)

I tried the Spelt Pretzela and really liked them. Bite into them and they have that great pretzel crunch. other brands give you that taste of run of the mill generic taste. These have a sweet, nutty flavor and aren’t oversalted. I approve.
