Good Greens Bars

Happy Friday!! What are your plans for the weekend? Any Halloween parties in store?

We have tickets to Saturday night’s hockey game. The Tampa Bay Lightning are playing at home and are having a Hockey Fights Cancer Night. I’m looking forward to that. I tried carving a lightning bolt in one of our pumpkins but failed. Not picture worthy to say the least.

I busted out our new waffle maker this morning and made Bob’s Red Mill Buckwheat Waffles.

I added chocolate chips and bananas to the mix. Wow were they good!

The recipe made 3 waffles so I’m going to wrap the leftovers up and freeze them for a morning when I don’t have time to cook. If Tyler is grumpy, I’ll just have to throw the waffle in the toaster to heat it up. Brilliant!!

Yesterday, after my lunch, I was needing a quick snack. I’m always on the lookout for an all natural snack bar. I just received a box of  Good Greens Bars from Holly to try.

“All of the bars contain 100% of the daily recommended value of fruit and vegetable intake. The bars are gluten free, vegan, kosher, dairy free, low glycemic, natural, 72% organic, raw, and delicious. Our Z52 superfood powder is what gives the bars their insane nutritional content- a serving of it goes into every bar. Dehydrated greens and berries, probiotics and antioxidants are in this mix, and it’s something no one else has or is able to duplicate.”

There are 4 flavors in the sample box…Wildberry, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Chocolate Coconut, and Chocolate Raspberry.

I tried the Chocolate Raspberry. It was sweet and definitely fruity. I enjoyed having pieces of raspberries in the bar.

I also tried the Chocolate Coconut. It was really sweet, a little too sweet for my liking. It definitely had the texture and flavor of coconut while being crunchy yet chewy.

Both bars were filling. I still have to try the other two but for now the Chocolate Raspberry is my favorite.

My grandparents and my uncle are in town today. I’m making them Stuffed Acorn Squash for lunch so I’ve got to go for now.
