T Day Countdown

The Thanksgiving Day Countdown has begun.

We got most of our grocery shopping done and low and behold…our 24 lb turkey…

Yeah… we like leftovers, so what.

How often do we marinate a turkey in brine for 3 days and cook it in the oven for hours? Exactly!

We still have to decide on a few more recipes but so far on the Thanksgiving menu we have…

Alton Brown’s Roast turkey,

To Die For Make Ahead Mashed Potatoes,

Sweet Potato Stuffed Baked Apples with Toasted Marshmallows from Iowa Girl Eats,

and mini pies by…me! I’ll be making pumpkin, apple, and peach mini pies.

I’m still searching for a few more recipes such as a green bean recipe (minus the cream of mushroom soup and fried onions), a stuffing recipe… I might use this one from Rachael Ray , a homemade cranberry sauce, and I’m still looking for a spectacular pumpkin crab soup/bisque recipe.

What are some of the recipes you are making for Thanksgiving??

I am making Green bean casserole (with the cream of mushroom soup & French fried onions), sweet potato casserole, macaroni & cheese, & mashed potatoes. Rest of the family will be bringing the meats & dessert. Wow I am getting hungry just thinking about all that food :)
