Santa BRA And Gingerbread Cookies

Baking usually comes easy for me. Find a recipe, mix the wet ingredients, then the dry, then mix both together, pour, bake, and sometimes decorate. Not too hard right?

Ppppppphhhhhhh! Add one grumpy teething 8 month old and disaster strikes. Baking is put on hold until you strap him to you and Ta Da!

A Ginger-Baby is born!

My first batch of cookies, which were Iowa Girl Eats’ Chocolate Crinkle Cookies turned out amazing again.

I was able to give half of the freshly baked cookies away to Santa BRA and his elves.

BRA, aka, Bikers Raising Awareness is a non-profit corporation that helps cancer patients while undergoing chemo and treatments. They helped me in my time of need back in 2009 and I’m so thankful for them. Yesterday they stopped by and dropped off gifts and goodies to Tyler and me for the holidays. I’m truly blessed to have found such wonderful people and friends. Thanks so much BRA!!

After the drop off, Tyler tried some of their tasty cookies.

Then he continued to keep me on my toes until I strapped him in the Ergo Carrier and we started baking.

HEY NO PEEKING UNTIL THEY ARE CLOTHED!!

That’s better.

The recipe was adapted from Eileen’s Spicy Gingerbread Men.

Instead of margarine, I used Earth Balance Coconut Spread and instead of regular sugar, I used raw sugar.

What a cute couple… They lived happily ever after…

Until I bit his head off! Sorry Ginger-Lady… he had to go. There are other men in the oven. ;)

(Get it? Fish in the sea, men in the oven? Alright…too much wine and sugar for me.)

Once the baking, decorating, and cleaning were over, Tyler kept me on my toes until midnight. He woke up bright and early today. Yawn!

We have more goodies to make and presents to wrap, unwrap, and re-wrap.  Yeah, I see you little man.
