Dave’s Gourmet Review & Crab Devil Eggs Recipe

I was given the opportunity to try some products made by a company called Dave’s Gourmet, which specializes in super-hot hot sauces as well as gourmet pasta sauces. To facilitate this review, I was sent some pasta sauces, hot sauces, and a bag of their popcorn.

“Our award-winning pasta sauces are gluten-free and made with natural ingredients. The most popular flavors are the Butternut Squash sauce, the Organic Red Heirloom, and the Organic Roasted Garlic & Basil. Other flavors include the Wild Mushroom sauce, the Spicy Heirloom, and the Masala Marinara. The pasta sauces are in many grocery and specialty retail stores as well as online at www.davesgourmet.com.”

I have NEVER had a pasta sauce that tasted as good as their Masala Marinara.

It blends the flavors of a classic marinara with the spices and flavors from South Asia. There are delicious hints of lime and coconut in the sauce which are favorite flavors of mine. I can’t wait to get my hands on more jars of this stuff.

My Dad loves heat, from jalapenos to tabasco sauces… you name it. So when I tried Dave’s Gourmet Insanity Corn, I immediately ordered him a bag.

This stuff is ridiculously hot! No wonder they call it Insanity Corn.

I was also sent their Wild Mushroom pasta sauce. This sauce is the ONLY bottled sauce that I have eaten that actually tastes like mushrooms. Superb!

I even used it to make a pizza.

Dave’s Gourmet also sent me 2 of their hot sauces.

Crazy Caribbean…

“The flavor of Rican Red Habanero, cane vinegar, fresh carrots and garlic combine to make this excellent condiment.”

and Cool Cayenne Pepper.

“This sauce gets its great flavor from aged peppers and cane vinegar. It will enhance the flavor of most any meal.”

My favorite of these two is the Cool Cayenne Pepper.  A great kick to add to any type of food. I even added it to the crab devil eggs I made for Todd this weekend.
