Pink For Me…Tea For You

With October almost here, the color pink starts showing up all over the country. Some of the products in stores start changing their labels to pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month.

I got an email yesterday from Rice Select stating that they were named a national partner of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. During September-November 2011, Rice Select’s Texmati White rice will have pink lids and pink labels. They are also donating a minimum of $50,000 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

My MRI results came back today and to sum it up it’s… ALL CLEAR!

It’s such a relief to hear those words.

This little delivery came just in time for our celebration.

Organic shortbread cookies from Tea for Two Cookie Co..

“Founded by super mom Kim Neale, Tea for Two Cookie Co. was inspired by food, family, and a genuine fascination with human connections.

Kim has always given back to others- from her work as a special ed teacher and Hospice volunteer, to her dedication to friends, family, and the community. It is this passion for people that has inspired the ingredients in her delectable recipes and her daily tradition of serving tea for two.”

I just love finding local businesses (especially bakeries) and reading about Kim really knocked my socks off. The bakery is located in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

I was sent 3 flavors… Mexican Chocolate, Honey Lavender, and Banana Toffee.

The aroma of the Mexican Chocolate Shortbread really got my taste buds excited. A spicy coffee in a cookie? This can’t be. The texture was perfect. Not too soft, not too hard. The cookie was so tasty. Chocolatey, spicy, and had the perfect sweetness. I could eat the whole bag in one sitting.

I normally don’t like toffee candy but let me tell you…these cookies are divine. The first bite of the Banana Toffee was a taste mixture of butter and banana. Wow! There are tiny bits of toffee in them. I thought that this flavor would be my least favorite but I’m having trouble deciding which one I like best.

As I opened the Honey Lavender bag, the aroma of lavender hit me. It was so intoxicating. As I inhaled, I was immediately sent back to a day spa that I had visited years prior. I felt calm. My first bite was confusing. I’m so used to smelling lavender in soaps and shampoos and not tasting it but OMG why haven’t I had it before now? It’s delicious! This flavor blew my mind!

Kim really knows what she is doing. The aroma, the taste, the texture…all fit perfectly in a little cookie. I’m sipping tea as I munch on them but I think eating them along side a nice port wine sounds fabulous as her website suggests.

I’m so happy that I found an all natural organic bakery. With the holidays around the corner, these cookies would make a unique and tasty gift. Check them out at… www.teafortwocookies.com .
